We learned a lot from this job! These were small medallions for the Reliance Bank in Athens, Alabama. They measured about 3.5" square. Four different colors of Corian were used here. As you can see, there are a lot of sharp, pointed lines. To achieve that required that we combine 3-D engraving with more conventional Inlay Techniques. However, we had to be very precise because sanding too deeply would distort the shapes. There was also quite a learning curve when it came to the Corian Adhesive. The stuff works great with normal joints, but with these intricate pieces it was a different story! (The close-up photo at the bottom is not very good. The lines were sharp and straight even though the photo makes them look jaggedy.)
